Tom Schwingbeck has served as Village Trustee for Arlington Heights since 2019. He’s running for a third term to keep delivering trust, experience and vision toward a robust future.
The Village is entering a period of tremendous change — continued discussions of the Bears stadium and other land usage, development of new business, and resolution of the challenges for safe water and reduced flooding. Tom brings the energy and experience to guide it.
Trustee for the Village of Arlington Heights since 2019, and a member of the Village Zoning Board of Appeals from 2015 to 2019. Trust, experience and vision are the traits that surface as the highest requirements of our leaders — and as your elected representative, Tom has worked hard to advance your interests.
Transparency is a critical element to gaining the trust of our community. It means being directly engaged in the discussion of taxes, land use, development and infrastructure — participating in, and not recusing oneself from, the conversations that shape our future.
— Tom Schwingbeck
As your elected official, taxes continue to be one of my biggest priorities. For my first five years on the Village Board, I voted for a 0% increase in the property tax levy. I plan on continuing to be a good steward of your money while providing the superior services residents have come to expect.
Another main focus is working collaboratively with property owners, staff, the Village Board and residents to transform undeveloped prime real estate — including, but not limited to, Arlington Park. This is a positive not only for the aesthetics of our community but to grow revenue and enhance our tax base.
Roads, aging water mains and the Village-owned lead service line replacement project. The board has committed annual resources to these necessary repairs and replacements.
At the center of this vision is fiscal stewardship, creating jobs, investing in infrastructure and developing land. Our future lies in growing revenue for the village — and that requires aggressive action to develop underused land, expand our tax base and keep spending in check.
Conservative spending and judicious use of tax increment financing to grow the community and compete with neighboring communities for jobs.
Grow revenue for the village through aggressive action to develop undeveloped and underdeveloped land, expanding our tax base while keeping spending in check.
Sustained annual investment in safe water, reduced flooding, and the roads and utilities families rely on every day.
Zoning integrity and design, transitional buffering, and balanced housing decisions that respect the character of our neighborhoods.
Tom and his wife Renee have lived in Arlington Heights for 38 years. They have a growing family with two adult sons, Michael and Nick, Nick’s wife Kaelin, and their dog. Tom has served as a Trustee for the Village of Arlington Heights since 2019 and previously served on the Village Zoning Board of Appeals from 2015 to 2019.
He is an active member of the community with a long history of civic involvement — not only as an elected representative of the Village, but through many years of volunteer service to his church and community.
Retired Owner and President of RLM & Associates, an engineering sales and consulting company, with over 38 years of engineering and manufacturing experience.
